Beaufortain Trekking Traverse

From
766 €

A fairly easy trek, where you will have time to enjoy the lakes and the environment along the way, with its pretty passes and small summits where we may come across chamois: but above all, this is the paradise of marmots and beautiful alpine flowers fields.

Beaufortain Trekking Traverse in the French Alps

The Beaufortain is a wild massif, a winter playground well known for the most famous ski mountaineering race "La Pierra Menta". We will leave from the extreme south of the Mont Blanc Massif to cross the Beaufortain in the footsteps of Gargan in its Brèche, to then reach the feet of the Pierra Menta and continue towards Arèches and its summits: the summit of the Grande Journée above Albertville will be above us and maybe the Mirantin to finish in the Beaufort country.

DAY 1: SUNDAY
LA RAJA - REFUGE DU BONHOMME - CRETE DES GITES - COL DES SAULCES - ALPAGE OF PLAN MYA

We will start with a regular walk, which will lead us to the Refuge du Bonhomme on the Tour of Mont Blanc: after a good slice of cake, we will set off for the Crete des Gites, the Mont Blanc will be our background the whole week. However, today we will head into direction of the Beaufortain and its Alpine pastures, the ridge is aerial but the path is wide, a quick descent into the pastures will lead us to the Plan Mya Farm, where we will make our reserve of Beaufort cheese for the week.
The sunset over Roseland Lake should be beautiful...

At the Col du Grand Fond we drop down our backpacks to make a small round trip to Brèche de Parozan: a great and breathtaking cliff on the other side, however the path iss good on our side and the viw is amazing.
